html24.dk and html24.net has developed into some fairly representable websites by now, and I’ve had clients enough to keep the business alive and spend all my time on expanding. This week is the first week in the life of html24 without any planned tasks for clients, which means I’ll have some time to write on my blogs, and fix some bugs on my different websites.

Adwords marketing

I’ve launched a campaign targeted at danish customers, where I’ve fixed the budget of my Google Adwords account to 50 dKr/day (10$/day approx.). I need to do this since I haven’t had time to do extensive SEO for any of the html24-webpages, meaning the web doesn’t really generate any leads for me. I have decided to test out AdWords for a week, and I’ll get back with the results.

Online webbusiness

I run the following online projects. All of which I’m going to share some statistics on in this post.

About a month ago I launched html24.dk, my danish based HTML-slicing business, which now has been launched on html24.net as well. (Global – yeah!) From day one I have established several good connections with attractive danish (And a few forreign) ad- and webagencies. From january 2010 I will let you in on the profitability on this project – which is my main business. There might be some changes in my blogging from january, meaning that all html24-related will be published on html24.dk or html24.net. (But this is not certain yet).

The strategy on html24

The strategy is to focus on ad- and webagencies as my clients. I only serve as subsupplier on webprojects, meaning that I won’t be creating websites as a whole, nor will I program or do projectmanagement. The projects are always simple tasks involving only one process: Getting a design transformed into HTML/XHTML and CSS (And perhaps a few lines of Javascript).

The prices are always the same, and the task is always the same – which makes it easy for me to be among the fastest and best global players on this small area of business – which is the goal.

What about the other projects?

All my other projects are based on a totally different economy: Passive income. HTML24 is a production-company, while all my other projects are webbased sites, making money on ads.

informationsbasen.com is by far the largest of my passive income webprojects. The site is about 1½ moth old and has generated about 1.000 dKr. (Around €140). I have an increasing amount of visitors and income everyday, though slow. The initial estimate was around 50 dKr/day from january 2010, but it looks like I will be making this goal early december 2009 instead. I have huge confidence in the project.

Until now the lesson #1, that I’ve learned from informationsbasen, is the fact that SEO is important – but a large amount of interesting content can be just as important.

I think I will be writing an article on passive income next spring, if my informationsbasen-strategy worksout.

My new webproject; smsfail.dk

My most recent project – smsfail.dk (and txtfail.com) – is a userdriven website showing fun text-messages. The danish website has had quite a big interest, generating 500 hits on day two, and 200 on day one. I’m looking forward to seeing where this project brings me in a months time.

SEO system v1.0

The system runs php, and is still in an early version, which means it’s not very userfriendly (You have to know PHP to use it). I will be making a userfriendly version for all you seo-interested guys out there shortly. And it will be for free.

Depending on who uses it, the system is undetectable by searchengines and even human beings, unless they really spent time on analyzing – and still, they can’t be 100% sure.

HTML slicing gone global!

From today html24 is global, both operating in Denmark and the rest of the world. For gloabal purposes I’ve launched the domain html24.net. I also had the time to do a redesign.

The first couple of weeks running my html24-business I’ve made quite a few contacts, and I’ve had the chance to do some business, making it possible for me to focus 100% on html24 and html24.net.

The idea is to work on only transforming designs to HTML/XHTML or templates for a CMS. In the moment I only work with the danish CMS, Dynamicweb, but it will change with time.

In a few months I will report back with the status of the company.

Informationsbasen.com, which is my primary SEO and moneymaking project for the moment, serves as a danish article- and guidebase. It has been online for one month now, generating 250 dKr income (About 35 euros). I’ve had around 2.000 visitors, and the income has been around 20-30 dKr. / day the last 4 days (Generating half of the total income so far). This post shows some statistics and thoughts about informationsbasen.com.

A point. Right now I’m making roughly 20 kr. / day on the site, with 50 / day as the goal for january. I think it’s possible!

Statistics from Google

The statistics, as they look in Google Analytics (Mind you, only from october 10.)

The amount of visitors has increased to slightly less than 100 a day, with a weird peak one day, on 160. I haven’t found out what caused this yet. Most importantly, the page has undergone lots of change the last month, mainly working on unique page titles and descriptions, giving me better rankings on searches in Google. The amount of pages indexed has gone up and down, but I guess it will be more stable once I get a pagerank, and once the pages are all indexed on their new locations.

As of today, there are no double titles, might be a few double descriptions, but I’m working on it.

My main traffic is from search engines, as shown below. (Blue: Search engines, Green: Websites, Orange: Direct traffic)

It’s my goal to get the blue part (search engines) as close to 100% as possible, since I’ve read that most ad-clickers come from searchangines, and not as recurring visitors.

Check back next month on the next update on the website. In the meantime I’m working on guidebase.org, making it an english version of informationsbasen.com. It comes around, but I’m not the fastest in creating english guides, so please let me know if you have some interesting content that needs free advertising in english.

Getting traffic is key

Since the idea behind guidebase and informationsbasen.com is to get a shitload of traffic, I am trying different strategies today. I’ve optimized all category- and tag-pages, plus added several new posts in different subjects. By doing this I will be able to see what specific posts generate traffic, thus making it possible for me to focus on that which brings value.

Statistics show it all

I analyze my visitors through Google Analytics and Google Webmastertools, which show me exactly what visitors have searched for, how much time they spent and where they left the website. This makes it possible for me to spot the interesting parts of guidebase/informationsbasen. These parts are the ones I’ll put my effort in. By trying lots of different subjects quick, it should be easy to spot trends and correcting the website accordingly – thus making more money!

So what’s the deal?

Informationsbasen.com has a small income-growth, but still not enough data (only 3 weeks!) to know for sure where it goes. It looks like the average daily income is rising slowly. Today it’s around 20 kr. which is my record. It grows a bit every day, but seems very dependent on my supplying content to the site. (Which I wont do for the rest of my life!)

Statistics on moneymaking – is it possible to make money on ads?

It will be interesting to check back in january. My goal is to earn 50 kr. / day (About 8 euros) on both guidebase.org and informationsbasen.com by january. If my goal has not been met I find it to hard, and I will invest my time otherwise. If my goal IS met by january, I will increase my time-investment and 10-double the content.

Interesting and important trends!

A good trend I have noticed, by analysing the traffic on informationsbasen.com, is where the visitors are coming from. My goal is to have a very high percentage coming from search engine results, since they tend to like ads more than regular visitors. Right now informationsbasen.com has half of its visitors from Google, which has been a steady and almost linear increase from day one. I hope I will get even higher.

Design to XHTML – what are you talking about?!

Okay, admitted! My business is packed with technical lingo. If you don’t know what the idea behind “Design to XHTML” is, most likely – you are not in my group of potential clients. Nevertheless – my business model might still be interesting to you! What html24.dk does is simple and can be broken down into three steps.

1. Mail me a design (Yes – an image file! JPG, PNG, whatever – but preferably PSD)
2. Wait some hours – most likely 5-10 hours, but the goal is 24 (Which is still fast)
3. Receive your new webpage in the format you specified when ordering (As XHTML, template for a CMS or perhaps something else).

That’s it! That’s what I do! (Not the whole truth actually, because I run a webcompany serving other stuff as well – winthermoller.dk)

The one part of the value chain!

In delivering a website, lots of stuff has to be taken into consideration. Since I know you cant be best at everything, I focus on only transforming designs to XHTML. This makes me the fastest and cheapest provider in Denmark. A model I hope will bring great fortune!

I will of course update on the progress of the company – but for now I have only had great response from the businessprospects I have contacted.

Fly me to the moooon!

If you buy the plane for your company, it’s allowed to transport everyone associated with the company to whereever you want. If you live in Denmark this means you can go from Copenhagen to Aarhus (The two largest cities in Denmark) in half the time of what’s normal here (by car or train usually 3-3½ hours. By plane: 1½ hours). PLUS! You get the to feel special by saying words like “Alpha tango charlie, ready to takeoff!”

So what’s the deal?

Well. You can buy a license for around 100.000 dKr and a plane for about the same amount. It’s actually not much, considering what you get. Plus – the plane will be a completely free and legal in-air advertisement for big events!

I’ve just added this to my list of “what to do in life”. I’ll buy myself a small plane, and use it for transporting myself around Europe

But since I just started my full-time entrepreneurial career a month ago, I guess I’ll have to give it some years before it’s possible.
